The original Freedom Writers went on to college. Some became teachers. Some help to lead and organize nation-wide teacher training workshops to teach others to write what needs to be written. They are giving back to the communities they grew up in and also reaching out the communities across America.
I couldn't find any individual accounts of what each of the original set of freedom writers are up to today though.
