What are the world's most dangerous sports?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$When I signed up for fencing they also had a sign up sheet for the Fencing Federation and it stated several times over, "You can suffer mortal wounds, there is a possibility of fatal wounds, understand this is a sport in which you can suffer wounds that could be fatal." And they used large case lettering just so you know.
Rugby and Fencing are two very dangerous sports. The fun can kill you. I made it out with a injury to my lower back (rugby), injuries to my right ankle, right knee, right elbow and right wrist (lead part of body for fencing). So yeah, I broke a girl's foil (sword) and almost stabbed her in the leg, dangerous indeed.

M$That's odd. I fenced in high school (many years ago) and it was not considered dangerous at all. No one got injured. Has the sport changed and become more extreme over the years? I thought it had become tamer, if anything, when they invented the electric sensors for scoring.
If you signed up with the Fencing Federation for insurance purposes you must fill out a form that in BOLD letters tells you this sport can cause fatality. Only one other sport had the same type of insurance application and that was rugby.
A friend of mine had an epee or foil break on her, cut through her protective pants (forgot what they are called) and the foil went into her leg. She had to go to the hospital to get stitches. Our fencing club was co-ed so we gals fenced against the guys. One hit me so hard that I got a hairline fracture on my right wrist.
Yeah, it's dangerous.
