Let's see quite a few of them trying to come into play this year. Mainly Hybrid and new types of vehicles to drive around in.

The air Car... Is a car that runs on compressed air..
This is gonna pick up more speed and finally make it's way into the US this year .. http://www.catvolution.com

Fuel Cells will come into more use in vehicles, and other battery or electronic things.
http://www.fuelcells.org/

More will be put into Wind, Solar, and Hydropower...
Solar Power on clothes will be used more to charge our cell phones, and ipods.. Our Clothing will provide services we had not seen before, and this technology will spread more to the US, and other countries.

http://www.talk2myshirt.com/blog/archives/668

All of these above which will help save money in the long run, create more green jobs, and improve the economy for those who give it a try..

More Biodiesel and Ethanol Things will be ran, but Biodiesel will push the price of certain food items and soybeans prices will go up..

Stem Cell Research will be allowed more in other countries, and there will be a more medical break throughs this year...

My prediction is the bicarbonated cancer treatment will finally catch the attention of the medical community in some countries that could lead to a treatment of many kinds of cancers..

As a result of more AFFORDABLE medical breakthroughs, and Alternative energy resources stepping into the mainstream, People will have more money in their pockets.. And the economy will improve..

Crystals will start to be experimented with more to replace floppy disks...

And Natural disasters, quakes, floods, and snow will force people to put into use alternative ways of generating electricity, and energy, as well as other items will be sold.. On the mainstream market.

More ways to earn money online, and internet work at home jobs will open up... More, will be offering participation tips like mahalo, and yuwie do.

There will be more news coverage when they Teleport the next thing larger than a pen, longer than three feet this year.

Some of this is based on news articles in my old news blog.. But, I have to dig For the teleportation, and crystal sources..

Ethanol Fuel will not take off as well as soybean based oil and fuel will. Also, the Train that runs on batteries recharged by its own breaking system, may come out of prototype and into mainstream use on Norfolk Southern Railroad this year.. They also will be promoting more of the soybean based oil they used.

I believe Tesla Motors is going to continue to get stronger. While not a new technology for 2010, the electric car is starting to pick up steam.

The roadster is a pretty cool looking car that does 0 -60 in 3.9 seconds and has a 244 mile limit on a charge. The company is expanding its product line to the Model S, which @Jason is giving away one in another contest.

Tesla is opening stores in major cities LA, NY, DC, Munich, Chicago, Seattle. According to Tesla their Roadster is more efficient than the Prius and certainly much cooler.

So I think that will be a huge market moving forward.

Then Wind Farms are starting to sprout up. If someone could make a streamlined wind turbine that could be small and sit on the roof of someone's house without being obscene. Wow, huge market potential there to put one on your house and never have to pay for electricity again.

Good luck!

In regards to @mcalvey answer, I do not believe that electric cars (or Tesla) for that matter will not take off in the new year of 2010 for two core reasons; and that is because the lacking of infrastructure (which in this case is mass-electric charging stations) and such high-price values. To begin, there has not been the mass distribution or placement of electric charging stations across the domestic United States. When looking at that we must see that electric cars are not practical for traveling large distances. We already know that they are practical for metro and urban areas where people can travel short distances like travel to work and get some milk at the Grocery store. Meaning an electric car could not efficiently get someone cross country or such long-distances without constantly charging and because electric cars are best used in cities because when you stop your battery recharges. Then we see, hybrid-electric vehicles, which in a sense have a gas motor and a plug-in electric motor. Meaning you can use solely electricity to travel short distances and gas for long trips. Most important it really is a Catch 22, because Tesla (or other electric car manufactures) won't step up mass production until electric charging stations are placed across the U.S.. Which is why the costs of electric cars are so high, because they are not in mass-production. The future of the United States is dependent on new green and alternative energies to power our future, but electric cars aren't the first step. The first step is plug in-hybrid vehicles.
