What are the two saddest movies you've seen? One from when you were a child, one from adulthood.

Mine: Where the red fern grows. This movie ruined me as a child, really what child is prepared to find out that the friggin fern grows between two dead dogs:(

And The Road, although I absolutely loved this movie it was sad and depressing.

I don't usually cry at movies, but darn it, Bridge to Terabithia made me cry. As a child, The Fox and the Hound stands out as being one of the saddest for me.

Yeah I thought that it would be a good kids movie, maybe if your child has to deal with the loss of a loved one it still is.

The sadest movie i saw as a child was probably Titanic. It really made me sad towards the end when Jack died. As an adult i think Toy Story 3 was kind of sad at the ending because Andy had to give his toys away that he had for a long time.

I ended up crying at "Milo and Otis" when I was a kid. That whole struggle with raising their families and being split apart is very...adult. It struck me and I was sobbing like a baby, I must have been seven or eight at the time. I think one of the saddest movies I've ever seen is "The Passion of Joan of Arc." It's a silent film about the trial and execution of Joan of Arc. Even though it's silent, there is such a wealth of anguish in all the strained expressions of Maria Falconetti's (she plays Joan) face, you can't help but be overwhelmed by the cruelty of her fate at the hands of the English. It takes quite a bit for a movie to make me cry as an adult, as I see quite a lot of them, but this one does it to me every single time.

A scene from "The Passion of Joan of Arc":
