What are the two fonts on the Genesis album cover "A Trick of the Tail?"

The stencil for the band name & the script. I'm making a poster for a cover band & want it to be as close as possible.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think I found a site that will help you figure this out: MyFonts.com has a new service called WhatTheFont that allows you to upload an image and they examine it and (hopefully) determine what the fonts are.

Haven't tried it myself, but it sure looks like it could work. There are other sites that ask you a series of questions and try to come up with what the font is, but WhatTheFont looks the most legit.

Good luck!

Already tried both of those before coming here & they didn't get it. I had better luck in this case just browsing through my huge font collection. The "Trick" part is similar to adine kirnberg but isn't quite it.

"GENESIS" looks to be "Bodoni MT". What variation (regular, bold, condence bold, ect.) I'm an not sure but I am sure that that is the font.

For "A Trick of the Tail", "Kunstler Script" and "Palace Script MT" are the closest but vary on the exaggeration of a few letters.

I double checked in both Photoshop and Illustrator in which I have added on to the adobe default fonts. Hope that helps, Aloha

Palace Script is pretty close. The Bodoni is definitely not, though. It lacks the distinctive capital N. Thanks for the effort!
