What are the top ten highest peaks in the world?

Where can I find out information on the worlds highest summits? Which world locations boast the highest peaks?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There are a number of resources both online and in your university's library, wherein you can find information on the world's highest summits, however one of the site that caught my special attention is InfoPlease.com. The site is a treasure trove of information not only about the world's highest mountains but also information on just about any informative topics that you are looking for, such as world news, countries around the world, biography of leading personalities, sports history & events, arts & entertainment, health & science.

In addition the site also features listings on most corrupt countries in the world, safest & most dangerous US cities, most popular Kid's Names, and other relevant lists that might interest you.

With regards to the top ten highest peaks in the world, kindly sea the list below:

1. Everest, Himalayas, Nepal/Tibet, 29,035 feet.
2. K2 (Mount Godwin Austen), Karakoram, Pakistan/China, 28,250 feet.
3. Kangchenjunga, Himalayas, India/Nepal, 28,169 feet.
4. Lhotse, Himalayas, Nepal/Tibet, 27,940 feet.
5. Makalu, Himalayas, Nepal/Tibet, 27,766 feet.
6. Cho Oyu, Himalayas, Nepal/Tibet, 26,906 feet.
7. Dhaulagiri, Himalayas, Nepal, 26,795 feet.
8. Manaslu, Himalayas, Nepal, 26,781, feet.
9. Nanga Parbat, Himalayas, Pakistan, 26,660 feet.
10. Annapurna, Himalayas, Nepal, 26,545 feet.
