The city of Erie is the fourth largest city in the state of Pennsylvania. Since it is located along Lake Erie, it is often a favorite vacation of many people. When visiting Erie, aside from spending time at the beach or spending time seeing the historical sites, you may want to visit one of the parks located near the city.

If you're looking for a fun way to spend the day, visit Waldameer Park which is located in the heart of Erie, PA. There are over 75 rides to enjoy as well as great foods and gift shops which are located around the park.

Presque Isle State Park is located along the shores of Lake Erie and is home of the Tom Ridge Environmental Center which is an educational center that teaches visitors about the different life forms that live in the Erie peninsula.

Splash Lagoon is another park that provides enjoyable family entertainment for vacationers who visit Erie, PA. Considered one of the top 10 water parks in the country, Splash Lagoon is located indoors and is filled with water slides, arcade games and other exciting water activities.

Erie Bluffs State Park is located 12 miles west of the city of Erie and has 90 foot bluffs, wetlands,endangered and threatened flora and the largest undeveloped stretch of Lake Erie shoreline.

If you're up for a bit of a drive, Cedar Point is located approximately 2 hours southeast of Erie, Pa. Cedar Point has 17 roller coasters along with an abundance of thrill rides, kids rides, water rides and gift shops and restaurants.
