Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

A runny nose, cough, loss of taste and smell, sore throat, and headache are common signs of a cold. A cold tends to last 4 - 7 days.

A flu is marked by a fever and lasts longer. If you have a fever over 101 you likely have the flu. Another primary difference between cold and flu is that the flu will make you feel much worse, with chills and sweats, achy muscles and fatigue.

The best treatment for colds and flu is prevention and that means natural home cold remedies. Everything from drinking plenty of fluids, having chicken noodle soup, gargling with salt water, frequent hand-washing, and taking viral-fighting herbs such as andrographis and Eleuthero shows impressive results and helps in the treatment and prevention of cold and flus.

Common symptoms of a cold are runny nose, congestion, sore throat and coughing. Adults may have a slight fever, but that is more common in children. Colds typically last about a week. Allergies can give the same symptoms so if it lasts more than a week that is a possibility if these are the only symptoms you are experiencing.

Flu symptoms on the other hand are more severe and can last much longer. With the flu you can have a sore throat, coughing and congestion, just like with a cold. However it will be accompanied by symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle aches, soreness and possibly vomiting and diarrhea. There are various types of flu, so with these symptoms chances are you will need antibiotics to clear it up.
