To become a US citizen you must meet the following criteria:
1. If you are admitted and become a lawful permanent resident for 5 years, that is three years if Green Card was obtained through marriage to U.S. citizen.
2. At least 18 years old.
3. One should maintain continuous residence for five years and three years if Green Card was obtained through marriage to U.S. citizen.
4. Must be physically present in the U.S. for at least half of the 5 yeas or half of the 3 years if Green Card is obtained through a U.S. citizen spouse.
5. Have a good moral character for the 5 years or 3 years if the alien obtained a Green Card through a U.S. citizen spouse.
6. Must be proficient in elementary level of English like reading, writing, understanding
7. One must have knowledge and understanding of the fundamental history and government of the U.S.
