• Hallucinations
• Talking in an unusual way

• Always restless and agitated

Symptoms of depression:

Bipolar disorder can be a serious mental disorder but the good news is that it is treatable when diagnosed. There are four distinct forms that a person can take when bipolar. There is mania, hypomania, depression and a mixed state. The manic phase is comparable to an extreme high. A person can function beautifully with little or no sleep. Thoughts can race out of control. Concentration can be very difficult. A person can feel euphoric like nothing can harm them. Depression is completely opposite of mania in that it will leave a person feeling very low. Energy levels will decrease sometimes to the point of not being able to get out of bed. Thoughts and actions will always be slow. Sadness will take over and not want to leave. Appetite can change drastically leaving a person hardly eating at all or gorging food. Thoughts can turn to death or suicide. Mixed episodes are just that; rapidly going from one extreme to the other. Bipolar is hereditary so if you have one or more family members diagnosed as bipolar you should be aware of the signs or symptoms stated so you can know when or if you need to seek help. Left untreated the mood swings can rapidly escalate, but with the proper medication and therapy a person can live a long normal life.
