I don't think it's ever been tested on humans so it's impossible to be sure. However, in vitro, it appears to be a potent but possibly poorly selective agonist of the mu-opioid receptor. Apart from profound analgesia, euphoria, constipation, pruritus due to histamine release. Its sulfonamide structure suggests that it may be an effective calcium channel blocker, in which case hypotension (low blood pressure) might be anticipated to occur. D
