What are the risks involved in undergoing Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck surgery)?
My best friend is planning on undergoing a tummy tuck surgery. She had been saving for this operation after her she gave birth to her third child through caesarian operation. She said she has a low self esteem and hate to look at her stomach in the mirror, and even hate it more when her husband stares at her. He does not have a problem with how she looks, but she said she has to do it for her own self esteem. Are there any risks involved in undergoing Abdominoplasty?

As with any surgery, getting a tummy tuck does have risks involved. These could include a risk of infection to the site of the surgery, an allergic reaction to anesthesia or other drug used throughout the procedure, excessive bleeding or blood clots, and other unfavorable reactions to the procedure. Before undergoing any operation, especially an elective surgery, be sure to consult your physician and express your concerns regarding the risk factors involved. These may vary depending upon your own individual health.
