What are the quick and effective natural remedies for blepharospasm?

Blepharospasm is a condition in which one experiences involuntary twitching of the eyelid(s). I've seen some people who have this condition and I also had experienced it myself. It's really disturbing because you can't control it. It would also go away on its own without [treatment but may take a few weeks. So, I want to know if you know some really fast and effective remedies for the said condition?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have asked my doctor about this in the past, and he has said that it most likely occurs when you are stressed, emotionally or physically.

The few times when this has happened to me... I look at it as a 'time out' reminder. Obviously I'm doing a little too much. I will rest, meditate or sleep and the ticks will be gone.

Only if they don't go away in a reasonable amount of time or come with other symptoms (please see link provided) should you seek medical help.

Just remember that it's nothing horrible, it's most likely a reminder that you need to take it easy. Our bodies have wonderful ways of keeping us from overdoing it!

I get this quite often when I am over tired, it doesn't last long and as long as I take a break, sleep is better, it soon goes.

There are two things worth trying which refresh your eyes and may help, I find them beneficial.

First, I wonder if you use teabags? As I'm English I get through several brews per day, but the used teabags have another use. If you chill them and then place one on each closed eyelid, (somewhere on your own, 'cos you look like a dork!) for about ten minutes , the cold tea will soothe your eyes and I find reduce the annoying twitching.

If you don't have teabags, try using slices of chilled cucumber, again this is very good for soothing the eyes.
