What are the pros/cons of the Instinct and the BB Curve?

Looking for a smart phone primarily for IM, quick web browsing, and maps. Possibly will use it for music as well depending on how easily it works on the phone. This will be my first smart phone so I'm sure my habits will change as I figure out uses for it so the ability to add apps would definitely be nice.
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

best place to get info on a phone purchase is to ask friends or people you know who have that model - also what i do is check
amazon.com - for their reviews usually they have many reviews listing pros/cons
and i check reviews on phonescoop.com - lots of info there

Like romuo said, ask friends. Go to the store and see if you like the feel -- make sure you like typing on the touch screen. Personally, I use a Blackberry Bold and I am impressed with the latest Blackberry browser and application suite.
