What are the pros and cons of household Propane Gas Heat?

I live in Florida, where electricity can got out often. One strong point towards gas heat is obvious, you won't freeze if the power goes out. One point against, if you run out of gas, well, you get the picture. Also, gas is more efficient than electricity and heats up faster. if you live in the north, where ice can cause the power to fail, gas is a great alternative to being cold until the power company shows up. i think most people are afraid of gas heat, such as the pilot light going out, but i've lived with gas heat my whole life and have never had a problem with it. My neighbors also know where to go when their heat goes out. gas water heaters are supposed to heat up faster as well.

con - possibly running out assuming you have to have gas company fill tank from time to time
