What are the premium tea brands for Japanese Sencha (a type of Japanese Green Tea) ?
It says "Uji Grade Sencha".
How does the grading system work ?
Is Uji the province that produces the best Sencha ?
Thanks.

The superior brand of Sencha is the Gyokuro which is a tea made from only new shoots and cultivated under a mesh to avoid direct sunlight. These major brands are the Yame Hoshino Vil. Gyokuro and the

Some people prefer first flush sencha, and there is also a kind of sencha called Kabusecha, which is shaded, similarly to how Gyokuro is produced. Here is a bit of information on different tea-producing regions in Japan, with listings of different teas produced in each region:

Personally? My experience is that expensive teas are not necessarily better. For example, bancha is a coarser type of tea that is often much cheaper than sencha and is considered "low grade", but I've had some bancha that I strongly prefer to some sencha. Try different sources for yourself and see what you like best.
Enjoy!
