It is actually a toss up. In the last few years, Benton harbor has established an Arts District which is quite nice and has attracted quite a lot of attention to the downtown area. There are several trendy places to eat, along with one of the finest pork barbeque joints you will see this side of the Mason Dixon (Piggin and Grinin). There are several active artists studios available for tours and in the evening, several nightspots led by "The Livery Microbrewery", an artsy-indie jazz type joint with a magnificent selection of local SW Michigan beers and wines.

The other place, of course, is the spectacular sunset views of Lake Michigan available a Jean Klock Park, a brand new facility that is hard to beat.
