There are three books in The Lord of the Rings, the books are as follows in the order in which they are to be read:
The Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
The Return of the King
The books were written by J.R.R. Tolkien and were highly successful. All three books were made into a highly successful movie trilogy that hit theaters between 2000 – 2002.
There is also another book in the series that acts as prequel to the events that lead up to The Lord of The Rings. This book is called “The Hobbit” which is the story of Bilbo Baggins, Frodo’s uncle who originally found the ring. Although, this book was written with children in mind it’s still a good read to find out more about how the ring came to be in Bilbo’s possession.
