What are the major causes of Piles or Hemorrhoids?

Yesterday, my cousin complained to me about the pain and discomfort he has whenever he sits down. He said he noticed something round on his anus after he had constipation, and that the area really hurts. I guessed it was piles, because I had the same symptoms when I was pregnant, but after some medications it left. Apart from pregnancy and constipation, what else could be the cause of piles?

The major causes of hemorrhoids are diet and straining on the toilet. These two factors are actually linked because eating bad food leads to constipation that will cause the person to strain on the toilet.

It was suggested that the Western diet that are rich in processed food and lacks fiber also contributes to developing of hemorrhoids.

The design of modern toilet unfortunately encourage straining too. While other people read while sitting on the toilet which adds more pressure to the anal veins.

Other factors that lead to hemorrhoids are aging, heredity, bouts of diarrhea, using laxatives. While pregnant women are also prone for this because the fetus puts on e pressure on the hemorrhoidal veins.

One advantage about hemorrhoids is that it is self-healing. Most hemorrhoids actually resolves themselves without any intervention unless one continue to strain when defecating or have chronic constipation or diarrhea.

But the weak wall of the veins that were distended will always be prone to flare ups, so, there is a tendency for it to recur.

The primary cause of piles is chronic constipation and other bowel disorders. The straining in order to evacuate the constipated bowels, and the pressure thus caused on the surrounding veins leads to piles. Piles are more common during pregnancy and in conditions affecting the liver and upper bowel.

Other causes are prolonged periods of standing or sitting, strenuous work, obesity, general weakness of the tissues of the body, mental tension, and heredity.

One of the biggest causes of piles and also one of the biggest causes of Hemorrhoids, is constipation and other bowell infection, disorders, and problems of any kind, that stay for very long periods of time.
When it is caught from say constipation, it is because you are straining to get rid of the bowels that have been having a hard time finding their way out. This causes too much pressure that stations itself around the veins. It is very important to get yourself checked out if for any reason you feel as though you might have this or something like this. Better be safe than sorry! Hope this helps you in some way, and good luck and I hope this isn’t the case for you!
