What are the main contents of Pakistan Food?

Tip for best answer: M$0.37
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Pakistani food is much like Indian food, but features more meat (about three times as much average consumption).
The meats are beef, goat, lamb, and chicken. No pork, as the country is almost entirely Islamic.
The meals usually include bread and/or rice but can also include potatoes. The various breads are mostly flat breads. The rice is usually basmatic.
Lentils, called daal, are another staple food and source of protein.
Vegetables include bitter gourd (also called bitter melon), cauliflower, eggplant, okra, cabbage, potatoes, rutabaga, spinach, and mustard greens.
The meats and vegetables are usually prepared in a curry, which can vary from highly spiced in the eastern areas to milder and more aromatic in the northwest.

While true, that is not a helpful answer. The question is about ingredients, like rice, chicken, curry, etc.
