What are the highest rated beers?

Is there a website that rates beer based on taste, appearance or aroma? How can I find rare beer brands in my area?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hello the_valley,

You are going to find many good sites which rate beers and even provide lists of the best beers. One such site is www.ratebeer.com and another is beeradvocate.com. In www.ratebeer.com you have list of the top 50 beers at this link:

http://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/Ratings-Top50.asp - Beers are rated based on reviews. Rating is based on aroma, appearance, taste, palate and overall experience. This site and list is useful as ratings are done by experienced reviewers.

This website also has a list of the top 50 beers in America at this link:
http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/country/united-states/213/

At www.ratebeer.com you can even check out the top seasonal beers and new beers.
http://beeradvocate.com/lists/top - This link has a list of all the top beers and they can be sorted according to style. Here again beers are rated according to look, feel, smell and taste. Reviews are provided by community members.

If you want a list of beers from around the world, check out this list which was published by CBS.

One good source for rare beers is a beer club like the one listed below. You can buy and get beers delivered to you if you sign up for a membership.
