Hi cnp2312,

Guava is one of the nutritionally-rich fruits. It is rich in vitamin C, a known antioxidant known to ward off cough and cold. In fact, guava has much more vitamin C than citrus fruits, including oranges. If you eat its seeds, you can see your constipation problems disappear. Here are few of the health benefits of this wonder fruit.

• Dysentery and Diarrhea: The chemicals in guava tones up your digestive system and kills pathogens. Hence it is effective in afore mentioned diseases as well as gastroenteritis.
• Constipation: It is high in fiber, which is essential for clearing your bowels. This makes it effective in treating constipation.
• Cough and cold and scurvy: It is rich in vitamin C, an important vitamin for treating cough and cold as well as scurvy.
• Weight loss: Being high in fiber, proteins and vitamins, guava keeps you full for longer at minimal calories. This prevents you from bingeing and helps you in weight loss.
• Other diseases that can be controlled by eating a guava include high blood pressure, diabetes, prostrate problems etc.

One of the important chemicals in cancer is lycopene, which protects against cancer. So eating guava a day is very essential in protecting you against cancer. So you can say, “a guava a day keeps the doctor away.”
