Respiration is the process of breathing, which consists of exhaling carbon dioxide waste gases from your lungs and inhaling oxygen rich air to help recharge your blood to transfer it to cells. Oxygen-poor blood is pumped from the heart where the excess carbon dioxide diffuses into the lungs via the aveoli sacs and oxygen is absorbed there.
Cellular respiration, on the other hand, is the biochemical metabolism that makes energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) from the sugar glucose. All cells need this molecule for essential metabolism reactions to occur. Cellular respiration occurs in the mitochondira organelles of plant and animal cells.
