Here are my key factors for mobile ad success:
1) Relevance of the ad offer to the potential customer
2) Quality of the offer to the potential customer
3) Speed or timing of the offer when presented to the potential customer (e.g. location specific, GPS tie-in, etc)
4) There should be a streamlined way for the merchant to accept the "mobile coupon/offer".
5) Their should be a high quality tracking/reporting system that can show the results of mobile ads with the effective conversion rates.
