Teen Second Life is a version of second life reserved for teenagers. It is running on the so-called "Teen Grid." It was officially opened to the public on February 14, 2005 for 13-17 years old. Teen Second Life's operating hours were increased to 24 hours a day from previous hours which starts at noon to 10 pm Pacific Time.
Second Life and Teen Second life are different in several ways:
1. Teen Second Life are transferred to Second Life if they turn 18. Those who are underage who violates the TOS by accessing Second Life will be restricted from accessing both sites.
2. Teen Second Life is comprised primarily of residents from the US and Canada due to restrictions intended to deter adult registration.
3. Teen Second Life is significantly smaller in the size in terms of database and the amount of land and concurrent Resident population at any given time.
