What are the differences between Launch.is and Demo.com events, and can entrepreneurs present or attend both?

Tip for best answer: M$1.01
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The LAUNCH Conference is free to present.
DEMO charges $18,500 to a startuo.

LAUNCH companies are selected based on merit.
DEMO companies are selected based on their ability to write a check.

Tickets to LAUNCH is only $400 for startups and $1,000 for everyone else. Using a code like JasonNation knows 10% off that.

DEMO tickets are 6x+ at $2,495.00!

LAUNCH is run by fellow entrepreneur and angel investor Jason Calacanis (that's me!).

DEMO is run by a huge corporation, IDG, that only cares about getting 60 or 70 companies to give them $20k+ each.... their conference makes millions in profits off the backs of startups.

My conference launch on the other hand, is built for startups, and I've committed that all my profits from the conference will go into my angel fund--and be invested BACK IN THE COMPANIES!!!

It's fairly clear I think. You can give you money to a big nameless corporation like AOL's TechCrunch Disrupt or IDG's DEMO, or you can support the people's conference! :-)

They also have a $5,000 one for DEMO, which is not free, yet it's less than the $18,500.

You can attend both, if you have the money.

Whether you can present at both is a bit more complex. If you're presenting at LAUNCH you have two situation: 1) Launch a new startup that you haven't shown to the public yet, 2) Launch a (major) new version of your current software.

If you're in situation 1 (e.g. a new startup) you probably won't be accepted to LAUNCH if you already presented it at DEMO. The other way around I don't know.

If you're in situation 2 (e.g. existing company with a major new version) I guess the same applies, you can't present at LAUNCH if you already showed the new version to the public (e.g. presented it at DEMO). Again, the other way around I don't know.
