Sex is a dangerous thing when used in advertising. Yes, it has run rampant, and yes it does get used more than most would like to admit. It’s a frustrating thing that people have to resort to such tactics to sell a good product. Now, with that said, I buy into it. You buy into it. And pretty much this whole darn world buys into it. And, if it’s true what they say, “All press is good press.” Then sex in advertising is only going to get your eyes. The advertisers have the eyes of those that it engages, and the eyes of those that it enrages.
If a shoe company needs the cleavage of Kim Kardashian to sell shoes, then so be it. If a burger needs Paris Hilton to drop ketchup all over her bikini body, fine.
You can get dicey when younger people are exploited, and you always take the chance of irritating those who claim their moral compass is a little bit more North than yours. But, in the end, sex sells, and there is no opinion or rally that will ever stop it.
