What are the best works of Harlan Ellison?

I'm saddened to hear he's dying.

http://www.thedailypage.com/isthmus/article.php?article=30610

I read a few of his books when I was young, and loved them, but he went off my radar probably before I was even twenty-five.

What are his best works in any medium?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The best work of Harlan Ellison ever was this interview. As a freelance writer, this is something that I can relate to on multiple levels. He points out that if you are going to do something, you better get paid for it. He points out his thoughts about what he thinks about companies and people that expect you to simply do things for, "publicity." As a writer, I live by this video.

Warning, it does have some really, really, foul language.

I don't consider an interview to be "a work".

I'm looking for things authored by him that I might want to read or watch. If you've got any recommendations there, that would be great.

FYI, Isaac Asimov wrote "I, Robot", not Harlan Ellison, nor did he write "Star Trek," which was conceived by Gene Roddenberry.

I believe that the story " 'Repent, Harlequin,' said the Tick-Tock Man" is his best. It's poignant, relevant, and not quite as godless as "The Deathbird Stories."
Also, it's been redone in a beautifully-illustrated edition which is worth owning.

Thanks for the recommendation.

The person that mentioned I, Robot & Star Trek was not at all informative in what they wrote, but was presumably getting at the fact that Harlan Ellison wrote a script for an I, Robot movie (which I think was never made) and wrote some Star Trek scripts.

I sure 99% people would say "Star Trek"
but for me is "I, Robot" not the remake one but the original one. as people always says first one are the best one. ^^

This answer is very thin.

To have a shot at best answer I'd be looking for a lot more explanation of why think I, Robot is his best work, and maybe some useful links.
