OK, I got out my Zune and all of my many "cardio" playlists for this. Everyone's taste in music is different, and that is certainly a factor to consider when creating a workout playlist, but this list should have something for just about everyone. There are a lot of "girly" songs (Miley Cyrus, Sheryl Crow, Ani DiFranco) in here, but there are plenty to choose from for the guys as well. Some of these do have a slower beat than others. When I am working out, I like to alternate songs with a faster tempo with those that have slower, but steady beats. Also, certain kinds of music are better for different workouts. Dance cardio always includes some of the fastest, most upbeat songs, but songs for jogging, cycling, or walking include faster songs that incorporate a steady tempo for better endurance.

This is my comprehensive, yet ongoing, Zune workout playlist. I hope that there is something for you in here:

There are a couple of slower songs on there, but the majority of them are very upbeat. Lady Gaga's "The Fame" album, and Rehab's "Graffiti the World" album would be close seconds.

The year is young. So, a few of these "new" tunes actually crept in at the end of last year. And, while the dance cuts are here as usual, it's also been an excellent month for rock. To that end, Pearl Jam make their playlist debut with a sharp return to form. Hey Monday manage to channel both Bon Jovi and Josie and the Pussycats. And les bébés rockers Plastiscines bang out a new single — following up their recent turn on Gossip Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anything by Disturbed, but specifically:
-Down With the Sickness
-Stupify
-Dropping Plates

I also find NIN's album With the Teeth to have a lot of good stuff on in.
