What are the best open source ERP solutions?

I have a few years of ERP configuration experience. Unfortunately, my company is not very welcoming of emerging technologies, and definitely not about open source software. I would like to participate in the best open source enterprise resource planning projects, but I don't really know where to begin.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I would suggest you OpenERP. Though like Ned said above it is not fair for me to give a comparison I'll give you a brief introduction to the product.

The features of OpenERP include management accounting, financial accounting, sales, purchase,Human resource management and many more. Here is elaborate details of the same http://bit.ly/amVsax. OpenERP is among the active projects in Launchpad and is developed in Python. OpenERP is modular i.e you have the option of using only the modules that are necessary with your conditional requirements. Currently we are in the verge of release of version 6.0. Please visit http://www.openerp.com/ for more infor

Hi Warren,

Take a look at xTuple (www.xtuple.com is the company site, and www.xtuple.org is the community site). It's been the most active project on the Sourceforge open source portal for well over a year, and the functionality covers more than most mid-market ERP packages. There are a number of videos on the xtuple.com website that walk you through various functional areas of the software, and of course, extensive documentation to help you after you download it.

I'm the CEO of the company, so you'll understand that I'm a little biased - but I think you'll get a sense of the depth of the solution, and the global community behind it, pretty quickly in looking over the websites.

Regards,
Ned
