What are the best laptops under $400 right now?

Tip for best answer: M$0.86
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

From My Knowledge First I Recommed to go Buy

* Toshiba - toshiba 40gb hdd 768 mb ram and a cleron 1.6 ghz for $250-300

* Acer- Asus 1005HA PU1X 101 LCD 166GHz Netbook - US $379.99

* Asus - Eeepc

* Dell - 1 DELL LATITUDE CDRW DVD P4 M WiFi XP-2 WI FI LAPTOP NR
DELL D620 DUAL CORE 1.6GIG / 1024MB / 80GIG / CDRW-DVD - Price : 224$

* IBM - Think Pad R51 - 200&
*

The Asus Eee PC - just the facts
There are a few models of the Asus Eee PC - and they're all the same size: 22.5cm x 16.5cm x 3.5cm. The footprint of the machine is smaller than a standard letter sized / A4 sheet of paper which is 29.7cm x 21cm! The 7inch display has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, which isn't
huge - but still quite usable. The entire unit, including battery, weighs in at only 920g! It sports 3 USB ports, a video-out port for an external monitor, an SD card reader, ethernet, WiFi, webcam, microphone and speakers. Some models come with solid state hard drives up to 4Gb!

purchased this computer a couple of weeks ago and I have to honestly say that I love the hell out of this thing ! It was a great deal, perfect size ( larger than your normal notebooks) and has everything you need on it ! I also purchased a nice router to go along with it. It is fast, clear, nice size screen, great resolution, battery life is about five hours.. I am very, very pleased with this computer !!! "
