What are the best horror movies in the vein of the Saw series?

The first one is pretty cool. My brother says the other two are ok, but that they can get a bit confusing.
I've seen them.

M$1. The Suicide Club
Intelligent storyline, lots of bloody gore but it's more than a horror movie. It is a work of human existence and a need to sustain one's life in light of the things that many take for granted.

2. Vacancy- I chose this one because it has a few similarities to the Saw series. It's about a couple who becomes trapped in a desolate motel who realize they are being filmed and must escape at all costs.

3. Auditon- This is another Japanese film. I chose it because it has a lot of crazy torture scenes like the Saw movies, plus it's also a very intelligent and well-done film.

4. Captivity- In essence, this movie is very similar to the first Saw. It begins with a man and woman trapped in a cellar together, while their kidnapper psychologically toys with them.

5. The Killing Gene- The tagline of this movie sums it up pretty well:
"Would you kill the one you love to save yourself from death?"

M$Oh man I *love* the Hostel movies and I would mark this as "best answer" except I've already seen them (sucks i know)
The only flaws in Hostel 1 that I found was that the director saved almost all of the "gore" for the last half hour of the film, it was slow to start and the actual premise of how the victims got corralled into the chambers was a bit vague for the first half of the movie (since it wasn't explained and you literally had to pick up on the nuances of the film to figure it out). Other than that, it was an excellent film. Haven't watched the second simply because I didn't want "more of the same."

M$Disgusting, but scary and the climax is pretty gripping.

I'm going to jump in here and 3rd the Cube series and agree that the first one is by far the best!
I definitely second the Cube series of films. Watch the first one. The third is just silly, but the first is gold.
