You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There are various factors to consider if you want to find the cheapest day to fly.

1. Day of the Week: The cheapest days to fly are normally the days that aren't as popular. Friday through Monday are very popular days so Tuesdays and Wednesdays are usually the best days to book low priced flights.

2. Time of the Day: The lowest priced flights are usually very early in the morning or late at night. These are inconvenient times for the majority of people and airlines usually offer these at the cheapest price.

3. Holidays: Another factor you should keep in mind is the season and holidays near the dates you wish to travel. Anytime near holidays usually costs more. Although you might be able to find lower priced flights on the exact day of the holiday, for example, Christmas Day (Dic. 25.) or New Year's Day (Jan. 1).

For price drops it usually depends on the airline and their pricing structure. Some Airlines might offer the cheapest prices ahead of time and raise them as the dates get closer. Low cost airlines sometimes offer cheaper last minute flights, popular airlines offer a lot of specials in the Fall, etc.

Some Personal Tips:

1. You should always do your research before booking a flight so you can find the lowest fare possible. Don't just stick to major carriers, you can usually save a lot with low cost carriers like Spirit, Jetblue and Southwest.

2. From personal experience, I recommend you always compare the big websites like Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity with each individual airline to make sure you are not being charged booking fees. Also search online to see if there are any coupons available, http://www.RetailMeNot.com usually has most of these up.

3. Use the Flexible Search that most travel websites offer to help you find the cheapest day to fly.

4. I recommend you check out Spirit Airline's website, http://www.spiritair.com, because Spirit usually has the lowest price on flights and they offer a lot of sales and coupons throughout the week and you can even suscribe to their Sale Newsletter and they'll notify you whenever they post a new sale.

I know all this because I'm majoring in Hospitality Management and I love to travel and usually book all the trips for my friends and family. Hope I could help! :)
