Alright, all jokes aside, I would say a federal job. The federal government can just make money by borrowing it from the Fed every time run out, so I would say that's pretty secure...unless the economy crashes, but if that happened no jobs would be secure. You can apply for federal jobs at:http://www.usajobs.gov/EI/thejobsearch.asp

M$If these kinds of jobs do not appeal to you, what you need is some sort of specialized knowledge. Financial services are global and competitive, but if you can find your niche, and if it's a necessary cog in the machine, then you'll find relative stability. However like all competitive jobs it will require you to keep learning and growing so that you can adapt to the changing economy. Find an industry that will always need people (i.e. health) and then find the skills that will help you excel in that field

Oh, and my source for that is that I applied for a federal job before.
whoa if you are looking for a tax free place you can go to dubai and work there. Dubai is a fast growing city. Thousands of people migrate to Dubai every month in pursuit of a better life and career opportunities. In a recent survey Dubai was ranked 2nd most favorite place to live and work. And no wonder, since Dubai offers the best of everything, and it’s getting better everyday. In two to three years when the major projects in Dubai are completed it will be a great place to live.

Haha!
Cool, but what kinds of experience/school do you need for federal jobs?
In order to bag a federal job, you at least need a bachelor's degree. In addition to that, any specialized technical skills would be helpful, speaking a foreign language, experience working overseas, excellent writing skills, and oral communication skills. The application process is painful and the competition is fierce. It's pretty difficult to get a federal job, but there are continuous job postings throughout the country (and all over the world) all the time. So keep trying if you don't get called the first time.
