What are the top three advantages to playing in the World Poker Tour as opposed to a World Series of Poker event?
There are many differences between the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and the World Poker Tour (WPT). WPT events are usually more expensive and a lot less people enter, thus leaving the prize pool smaller than many WSOP events. WSOP holds a huge variety of events, some with more reasonable prices, but this means that many more players will enter, some who have little poker experience. Is this the main advantage of playing in the World Poker Tour? That most players will be professional? Or are there differences in tournament structure that are more conducive to big stack poker? Would you be more likely to enter the WPT or the WSOP? Why or why not? If you went to the World Series of Poker, which event would you enter first? Would your choice be mainly related to the buy-in price? Which of these two options would you take, if given the choice? Why?

LOL
you have like 30 questions in this one question, and the one question you asked, you practically answered.
i would go with the WSOP. Mainly because of the price. Also, because it will bring in a lot more newbs. I would definitely say the competition is lower there. A lot of on-line players can get sponsored to play in the WSOP. Live poker is a lot different from on-line poker.
Though i would avoid a very large event. Larger events are likely to draw in better players.
I would only play in the WPT after i've proven myself as a capable player.
One thing i would also strongly consider is the average length of time for a tournament. I would rather pay a little more to play in a shorter tournament, than pay small bucks for a big prize in a huge tournament that would take many days. I know my endurance is too low for that much poker.
