I love online banking because it is so much more convenient to make payments online compared with having to send out checks.
One of the advantages to online banking is that payment will post to both your bank account and your credit account faster than it would if you were mailing in a check. Another benefit of paying online is the increased likelihood that your payment will be on time which in turn is a positive with regards to your credit history.
One of the disadvantages is that there is a possibility that your information could be intercepted if the site is not secure. From a personal experience though, I have never had any security issues in making payments. It has been nearly a decade since the last time I wrote a check to pay a bill and needless to say, I don’t miss it one bit.
