What are the advantages of eating whole grain?

Why is whole grain healthier? Does baking break down whole grain? How many more carbs are in whole grain food? Does extra carbs justify the health value of whole grains? If whole grains are so much healthier why isn't everything whole grain?

"Whole grains are those cereal grains that retain the bran and germ, along with the endosperm. Such grains are considered to be quite healthy for an individual.It is found out that whole grain products, such as bran cereal, whole wheat bread, and brown rice consist, of more nutrients per serving, as compared to their refined counterparts." Whole grain is healthy and it has many advantages, some of them are:
Good source of fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, protein and minerals.
Helps in weight loss and reducing belly fat.
consuming whole grains can prevent osteoporosis and many other bone related ailments.

"The carbs in whole grains promote good health by delivering vitamins, minerals, fiber, and a host of important phytonutrients. Easily digested refined carbohydrates from white bread, white rice and other refined grains, pastries, sugared sodas, and other highly processed foods may contribute to weight gain, interfere with weight loss, and promote diabetes and heart disease." source Harvard school of public health.
Everything cannot be good carbs as we need good carbs and bad carbs both, there are people who are too skinny and need intake of bad carbs - carbs digested easily, some other people who prefer to eat refined grains and who manage o control there weight and health. So its good that we have options, what we eat is our decision.
