What are swollen lymph nodes under the arm caused by?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The lymphatic system is a circulatory system of a clear fluid called lymph. Lymph leaves from the spaces between cells and enters lymphatic vessels of this circulatory system. In certain parts of the body there are lymph nodes that function to help clean the lymph of any foreign particles that are present. There are concentrations of nodes under the arms, in the neck and in breast tissue. These nodes may swell because of several reasons: infection, formation of abscesses or the presence of malignant cells.

It is important for your to see your doctor to make the diagnosis for what is the cause of the lymph node swelling.
