What are some weird stories you may have heard as a child, or that you tell your children?

Weird stories? My mom used to tell me a story that scared me half to death on the nights I just wouldn't go to sleep... She would tell me that this lady crab walking down the stairs would come into my room...lay at the end of my bed and watch me, breathing heavily and hissing until I fell asleep...still gives the chills to this day, because me being a kid believed it and my little mind was overlly creative...I don't think I could tell it to my future children....creeped me out to much I would rather threaten them with no allowence..not sure if that was the type of answer you were looking for:)
