Since I cannot tell you or predict the future, but I believe our future is with the robots. Don't just take my word for it, read the news, the robot stock news, and don't just rely on an analyst's say. Invest in what you believe in!
There are some up and coming companies in robotics, and some that have been around for years.
Below are symbols that I know off the top of my mind that seem to be solid companies in the technology sector that deal with robots.
I'm sure there are more, yet I prefer that you look into it before taking a dive into investing in robots.
ISRG - Intuitive Surgical
IRBT - iRobot

M$1. Applied Materials (AMAT) manufactures expensive and big machines needed for creating semiconductors. They sell chip-making equipment of all kinds like machines that make solar panels and other components that go into solar cells.
2. Autodesk(ADSK) has shares that are now $25.10 and is predicted to hit $30 at the end of 2010. Constructions is picking up once again in the U.S. after the housing bubble. This company is based in San Rafael CA and a developer of architectural and engineering software and other products.
3. Cisco System (CSC)) is a company that is headquartered in San Jose, CA and has been buying up rivals like Tandberge and Starent company that produces broadband equipment for mobile phone-carriers.
4. Hewlett-Packard's printers, serves, personal computers are selling well. The stock at $49.29 had nearly dobules since the market dropped down on March 9, 2009.
5 Microchip Technology (MCHP) is a chip maker and the stock costs $26.21 and yields 5.3%. Analysts expects Microchip to earn 98 cents per share in the year end and sees a big jump to $1.37 per share in March 2011.

Great advice, I was just having a discussion about how robots will be in commercial use in the near future! The technology is almost at that point.
I'll try to find a specific company that has long term potential. Thank you.
