What are some tips for learning how to identify different types of trees?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The best and the simplest way that I know of for identifying anything quickly, easily and conveniently is with the old favorites "The Observers Books".
You may remember this range from when you were quite young, I certainly do and I still have some of them now.
These books date from as far back as 1938 and there have not been many changes, there is no need. Tree types and the other subjects in this range haven't really changed in that time after all. There is one tree per page featured along with information about them. These small books are excellent for reference and can easily be carried with you to enable you to identify trees easily and quickly.
These books are readily available online and I have put some links for you below.
