Anything warm! I love tea, hot chocolate, coffee, soup :), stew, pasta, grilled cheese, etc. Really, anthing that you feel you like and are easy to down, is good. Having something warm is a bonus because it always warms me up adn makes me feel better. Make sure though to get lots of liquids during your sicks days and lots of rest. Sit down, watch TV with a blanket, etc. Relax. So don;t go and make anything to complicated, just keep it all simple. :)

Hi. Well the most obvious food to have when you have a cold is Soup! Good old fashioned homemade chicken soup. Chicken soup can be made to be tasty. First of all, many people don't have much of an appetite when they have a cold, so light foods are the way to go. I also make a nice hearty scoth broth type of soup when the family has colds. This is also good, as has plenty of vegetables, some meat, and barley in it. You can eat this with toast if you like. I think it's also wise to eat lots of citrus fruit, oranges etc. ( you could have them as dessert!) And if you get fed up with the soup, try some nice grilled fish, with lots of lemon and olive oil.

That would explain why nothing sounds good. I guess I'll stick with the soup for now.

I found this question to be a be a little odd. Most of the time when I have a cold... I lose my sense of taste for at least a couple of days, so nothing sounds 'tasty' for me with a head cold. I agree @falcon18, a good soup with a good broth.

I agree with Bunny, more often than not, when you are sick foods do not taste good. Even if foods do not taste that great, what is best to eat is garlic and chicken noodle soup. You can buy raw garlic, at the store. Use your garlic press and put the garlic in the pot of chicken noodle soup. If you do not have a garlic press, simply cut the garlic as tiny as possible. You do not need to use the whole clove, about a teaspoon full should be good. This will not taste bad, and at the same time get you better quicker.

When my kids or I are sick, we start taking vitamin C, as well. Take one tablet daily, until you feel better. Staying hydrated while sick is very important. Gatorade chilled, will keep you hydrated. Lastly, rest. After you finish eating, lay down at take a nap. So many of us do not believe we can afford to stay home when we are sick. Pushing yourself, and staying "one the go" can result in staying sick longer. Let your body rest.

every time, when i got a cold,, doctor will ask me to drink plenty of water, eat more fruits and vegetables, do not eat eggs and chicken.
what i did in accordance with My doctor said , so generally three days my cold will be all right.
I think drinking more water is really good for colds, and you'd better be a vegetarian.
As a cold, my favorite fruit is Orange.

Miso soup actually tastes pretty good when you have a cold, and it's super-healthy. Same goes for green tea. These two items are great for the immune system, they go down easily, and have enough flavor to taste decent when your taste buds are dulled. Garlic adds flavor to the soup and is reportedly good for speeding up the healing process.

I like to eat very spicy (hot) and crunchy food when I have a cold. My sense of taste and smell is muted, but I can still enjoy the crunch. Hot food actually will clear your sinuses (at least temporarily). I used to go out and eat jalapenos (like in dip) when I got a sinus headache because that would help drain my sinuses. :)

HOT & SOUR SOUP! This really does the trick for me. Because my sense of smell is compromised when I have a cold or the flu, I like having a large bowl of hot & sour soup from my favorite Chinese takeout, Lai~lai. The strong aroma and the steam coming off the bowl tend to help rid the stuffiness.
