what are some of the description of the world growing up in this generation x?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Right now, it isn't generation X, it's generation Y- as in Why Not? It's progressive, technological and trendy. It also (not due to its own fault) is lacking integrity, simplicity and human connection.
A typical description of gen X is: latch-key kids, independent or on Retalin for behavior; so uncontrolled or controlled that apathy set in. Deeply.
A typical description of gen Y is: techno-savvy, fluent in computerese and overly-mentally developed. The negatives are: lack of social skills; feeling alienated (more than typical teens); less traditionally educated and more selfish.
I suppose given a choice now, it makes more sense being an Omega generation. Individuals that thrive on being themselves- and finding happiness. Stereotypes exist for soundbytes, not life. :)
