What are some of the best snacks to give a one year old?

My daughter is a one year old who really enjoys her food! I was wondering what were some great recipes or snacks that I could give her that would be healthy as well. I am talking about snacks, something she will eat that goes in between her three full meals a day. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Granola bars are a great choice that can offer variety, plus the bar form makes traveling with them easy.

My son is almost 2, he also loves gold fish crackers, whole grain cheerios (no milk) or fruit loops(also no milk), pretzel sticks, whole grain ritz crackers, corn chips, cheese sticks, meat sticks or sausage slices, diced fruit and smaller whole fruits such as grapes, cereal bars, yogurt, dried fruit (prunes are his favorite he's weird.)... this could be a long list...to cut it short..

With my son even at one year old I always just fed him what i was eating prepared in a way he couldn't choke. if I was having an apple snack, he got peeled sliced apple, if I was eating meat and cheese he got meat and cheese sticks. I think that the best route to take as toddlers are observant, they like to eat when you eat and eat what you eat.

My kids are older now, but when they were one year old I kept snacks pretty simple. In between meals I would try to give fruit as snacks, as often as possible. I would cut up cantaloupe, oranges, peaches, watermelon, strawberries, grapes and the list went on. Because I gave them so many fruits when they were younger To this day they still LOVE fruit and will chose it more often than cookies or chips. I think it is important to introduce the fruits and vegetables at an early age. On the other hand, if you give kids unhealthy snacks when they are younger, they will grow accustomed to junk foods. The younger years are so much more important then I ever dreamed or imagined.
