Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Florida is a logical answer, I know, because there are usually nice warm days in between occasional cooler ones.

In this economy even Disney is giving bargains in their hotel room rates for certain dates.

I often see news reports of many major hotel chains giving large discounts, and especially after Christmas the rates should get lower and lower.

As for attractions, some of the main ones are very expensive, but no matter what areas you visit, you can find places that you can go for free or for a smaller amount of money.

When you get to an area, visit the Chamber of Commerce or Tourist Center and ask for suggestions for the freebies or inexpensive sights. They may also give you coupons for discounts.

Costa Rica! I went in September and it was amazing. December is their Dry Season so it's supposed to be even better. I got tickets for $450 each and they accept US dollars almost everywhere in CR. If you go, check out Montezuma... absolutely beautiful... Rent ATVs and ride up the coast, take the tortuga island tour and snorkle / see sea turtles / whales, try surfing, stay at La luna llena hostel in the forest with the monkeys. If you go up to La Fortuna Volcano, be sure to stop at the Talbacon Hot Springs - Absolutely Amazing!

Brazil my man!
It's Summer time and Rio is jumping.
If not Rio try the Northern coast Bahia etc. There are some beautiful islands off the coast that are filled with thonged chicas.

I recomend Colombia, You don´t know what you are missing and today is probably the only place in South America where US Americans are really welcome and considered truly allies.

Besides, they produce the best coffe in the world; the geography is astonishing, people incredibly friendly and perhaps one of the few places were foreigners are treated like kings. Brasil is the largest producer of coffe but their coffe is far from being better than Colombian coffee.

If you don´t llike mountains and don´t want to visit the country side there is always other constrasting places in Colombia that you may want to visit, like...

San Andres Island, the best kept secret in the Caribbean.

Caño Cristales, Colombia´s river of the five color, the most beautiful river on Earth.
