Boston is filled with all sorts of historical locations and you could easily spend weeks checking them all out. However, one of my favorite ways to get a quick overview of the historical landscape of Boston is by walking the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is a 2.5 mile walk that will take you by 16 different historical locations covering a couple of centuries of American history.
The trail starts at Boston Common and ends at the Bunker Hill Monument and passes by such noteworthy locations as the Massachusetts State House, Fanueil Hall, Old North Church, Boston Massacre site and the USS Constitution. The beauty of the Freedom Trail is that you can take it at your own pace – stopping at locations you want to spend more time at for longer and skipping by others. It can easily be done in a single day or if you are a real history buff, it could be broken into a couple days.
