What are some good ideas, when trying to cut back on fast food?

There are also items that we buy a few and toss them in the freezer. I usually keep a package of turkey sandwich meat in the freezer for times when I don't have time to prepare anything. Things like this and something like a large jar of peanut butter should be kept on hand. If you run out of anything else, you can at least have turkey and peanut butter. Keeping some other non perishable items should help.
Something else that I have found helpful is to just get a small item to go on the way to the grocery when there just doesn't seem to be anything around the house. Do this, rather than pigging out and going back home. If you eat something very light, you will have eaten enough, but not too much to keep from going to the grocery store and stocking up. I also recommend planning meals ahead of time and buying enough to make it through the week. You should plan ahead and buy ample food plus a bit more, but not too much more.
I think planning ahead helps people save time and money. It also prevents the waste of food.
