You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Eating a high-protein breakfast will make you feel full, and you will eat fewer calories throughout the day. This is something that was published in the International Journal of Obesity, and had results later repeated.

Feeling "full" does not mean much if you are soon lacking energy--the true hunger of a depleted system is more serious than simply having an empty stomach. Eating a small amount of fat will also help you feel more full. A particularly good choice is coconut oil, which is proven to stimulate the thyroid so that your metabolism revs up.

If you are trying not to feel hungry, then avoid the sugar rush/crash cycle you get from high glycemic foods. Fruit and potatoes are high up the glycemic index, and of course things made from flour paste, like noodles, are very high on the index. On the low end would be the usual salad ingredients, and veggies like green beans, avocados, and most cruciferous vegetables.

So there you go: protein, some fat, lots of salads and cruciferous veggies. Eat a couple of eggs in the morning, some coconut bark for a snack, have a lunch salad topped with shrimp, and grill something for supper (including packets of grilled veggies as a side) and snack on guacamole dipped out of the bowl with jicama. You won't feel hungry; your total caloric intake will be down and you will very likely loose weight if you need to!

I used this way of eating for several years and lost 50 lbs. Then had a baby and gained weight during pregnancy--back to eating this way, so far 35 lbs. down. And no, none for me, thanks. I'm just not hungry.
