Savory potato Cake:

1 1/4 kg Potatoes boiled
2 cups of green Peas boiled
1 1/2 cup of coriander leaves finely chopped
3 tbsp paste of chillies and ginger
1 cup of dates boiled and made into paste for chutney
1 1/2 tsp garam masala( cinnamon,cardamon and cloves ----powder mixture)
1 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
3 lemons
salt to taste
1 tsp sugar for chutney
method:

Boil the potatoes and mash them.To this ass salt,one tsp lemon lemon juice,green chillies and ginger paste(1/2 the quantity)
Add 1/4 cup of coriander leaves which are finely chopped. Mix all these and make it into a dough.
To the boiled peas add salt,one lemon juice,green chillies ginger paste and garam masala.
Date chutney:

Add salt,juice of one lemon,chilli powder and 1 tsp sugar to the date paste. Make it a thick consistency.
Take Borosil square baking dish. Apply ghee all over. Roll out the potato dough into two large squares,equal in size of the baking dish and one inch thick. Place one square at the base.press it lightly along the sides of the dish. Spread a layer of peas mixture and press it lightly. Then spread a layer of date chutney . lastly cover with Potato layer. Bake at moderate temperature for about 40 minutes till light brown. serve with tomato sauce or pickles.

Ingredients
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 tablespoon baking powder
* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
* 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

* 1 1/2 cups peeled and shredded apples
* 1 1/2 cups shredded carrots
* 1 1/2 cups peeled and shredded potatoes
* 3/4 cup dried currants
* 3/4 cup raisins
* 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
* 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
* 3/4 cup butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
* 3 eggs
* 2 tablespoons light molasses
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
2. Onto a sheet of waxed paper, sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon, allspice, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a medium bowl, stir together apples, carrots, potatoes, currants, raisins, walnuts and orange zest. Set aside.
3. Place softened butter and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat at low speed until mixture is light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition, and then mix in molasses. Slowly beat in dry ingredients until mixture is thoroughly moistened. Gradually stir in fruit mixture and continue to beat at low speed until well blended. Spoon into prepared pan.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and cake pulls away from sides of pan. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely."
