What are people saying about Chevrolet Equinox? Is the Equinox competing well against the Japanese Rav4 and CR-V?

Tip for best answer: M$2.01
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

These are some customer reviews on Chevrolet Equinox:

--quote--
Overall: ( 100 )
Comfort: ( 100 )
Performance: ( 100 )
Quality: ( 80 )
Appearance: ( 100 )

Favorite feature:
being able to check gas mileage and tire pressure whenever i want to

Least favorite feature:
I don't like the silver button on the dashboard compartment

Advice to buyer:
It is easy to park and very stabile when driving in the rain.

Detailed review:
I test drove this car and liked it and purchased it. It is gradually increasing in gas mileage as i get use to driving it. The ride is a little harder then i am use to since this is the first SUV i have ever owned. It is great if you have problems getting out of the lower sedans and helps someone who has knee problems tremendously.

Also considered:
2009 Honda CR-V

Vehicle purchased:
2010 Chevrolet Equinox

XM Radio

Least favorite feature:
Storage area behind back seat.

Advice to buyer:
If you are looking for a comfortable high tech vehicle with plenty of leg room front and back, this is the car for you.

Detailed review:
Chevrolet has done a masterful job of providing the driver with a cabin that is comfortable and quiet. I hate to leave my car when listening to the XM radio and hearing music the way it was supposed to be heard. You're like in your own world where you can forget about the business around you. It's amazing that GM could put so many high tech features in a car of this price. I took it for a 400 mile trip as soon as I got it and completely enjoyed every mile. My first tank of gas gave me only 25MPG so I hope I can increase those numbers on my next trip. The only negative I can point out is that the width of the storage space behind the back seat is much smaller than other SUV's I've owned.

Least favorite feature:
No electric Seat on Passenger side.

Advice to buyer:
I would tell them to drive one and see if they like it.

Detailed review:
I bought my Sport Equinox on 10/01/2007. I drove it a little over 100 miles. The fuel milage was great. The car performance was awsome! It is such a cute and sporty little SUV.

---quote---
When Toyota first introduced their Highlander Hybrid as a 2006 model, its EPA estimated mpg of 27 city/31 mpg highway was better than most other contemporary mid-size SUVs. For example, the 2006 Chevrolet Equinox with its standard 3.4-liter V-6 achieved only 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway.

Equinox has a 32 mpg? Can you find customers that have moved from Japanese Suvs to the Equinox? Is the price to high to compete against the Rav4?
